Hi, and welcome to my site! My name is Sammi, and I’m a freelance writer, journalist, author, and poet living in Jersey.

After nearly a decade of juggling contract writing gigs with other jobs and responsibilities (starting in college and continuing post-grad), I finally found the courage to go full-time freelance in 2023. This was the best career choice I’ve ever made, as I now write for clients across various industries and have the freedom to connect with some pretty awesome professionals.

My main beats are music, mental health, lifestyle, and travel. You can find my work in publications like VICE Media, A-Z Animals, Business.com, New Jersey Bride (print magazine), Yardbarker, and HealthyPlace, among many others. (Check out my portfolio!) 

I’m also a published author of a fiction novel called Some Place Like Home, a poetry collection called Mourning Moon, and multiple short stories in various anthologies. Currently—when I find the free time, that is—I am writing my second fiction novel and second poetry collection.

Though writing is my first and truest love, I will also soon be breaking into the podcast world with a new show called “My OCD and Me.” This podcast will detail my experiences with obsessive-compulsive disorder and include personal anecdotes, conversations with other OCD warriors, and interviews with OCD experts/mental health professionals.
